Brian A. McClellan (aka BAM) Bio - The Beginning
The beginning of my professional story was like many others, as I busily tried to build the best
“bona fides” possible to prepare myself for the conventional success track. I graduated from
Princeton University with a degree in economics and
Columbia University with a Masters in Business Administration and figured I was well set to live the life of my dreams. Even as I was preparing for conventional success, I had a wild streak in me, briefly trying my hand as a
rap singer before getting “back on track."
On the conventional success track, I had
unconventional success. I worked my way “up the ladder”, holding positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, finance, supply chain operations and strategic planning. By age 34, I had advanced to
the executive level (vice president of Sales) at then-
Fortune 100 company Georgia-Pacific and I had made it! But then….the awakening.
BAM Bio - The AwakeningDespite “winning” at the conventional game, I was still frustrated and unsatisfied. Why? I was unsatisfied because I was not working in my passion.
True happiness and true greatness only comes through following one’s passion. My passion is working as an author, motivational speaker and career counselor.
My passion is sharing success stories and success approaches. My passion is getting mine by helping others get theirs.
Since the "awakening," I have had the pleasure of living in my passion. Since then, I have had the pleasure of writing three books,
The Real Bling,
Unbreakable (e-book) and the upcoming
A Love Letter to Black People. I have also had the good fortune of being honored for another one of my passions, public speaking. I earned the title
"Toastmasters Georgia State Champion of Public Speaking" in 2007 & 2008 and in 2008, I placed among the
Top 20 Toastmasters speakers among 225,000 members internationally in the World Championship of Public Speaking.
But I am just getting started. Like yours, the rest of my story is yet unwritten.
BAM CredoI am committed to
Live Life With a BAM! How does one live life with a BAM?
•
Own Your Mind (Self-Belief) - All great achievement begins with great self-belief. Recognize that a strong self-belief is your greatest treasure and treat it as such. Choose your entourage, your support system, carefully in order to cultivate your greatness.
•
Live on Fire (Passion) – Commit yourself to your passions, that which you love doing, wholeheartedly. This passion will turn work into play and allow you to play your way to greatness.
•
Be Immortal (Excellence) – Resolve to make your impact on the world everlasting. Create something so large it can be seen from the moon, so new your name must be attached to describe it, so revolutionary that we forget how it was done before you arrived.
•
Give of Yourself (Reciprocity) – The greatest individuals and organizations among us are those that do the most for the most. To be great is to help others to greatness. Define your effort in terms of its positive impact on the world. When you deliver positive results for others, you will be rewarded many-fold.
I would be honored to be a member of your entourage as a motivational speaker, an author, career counselor or simply a provider of ideas. I wish you the best of luck on your journey to greatness! And when you BAM, BAM STRONG!!!
Sincerely,
BAM
